Mud Motors

SB Directional Services currently owns a large fleet of SB POWR Series Drilling Motors to meet your customized needs. 

In addition to the POWR Series Motors, SB Directional Services also has a large fleet of RED (ROP Enhanced Drilling) Motors. These high torque motors deliver superior performance to our customers through their design, materials, and manufacturing process. 

Measurement While Drilling (MWD)

SB Directional's MWD provides the reliability and accuracy needed for successful horizontal drilling projects.  Their advanced MWD technology provides the critical real-time data vital for customers to reach and maintain their targeted zone.  Their tools can be configured to accommodate a variety of downhole conditions as well as areas of geological challenge. Well planning

The SB Directional's Well Planning Department drives every phase of the well lifecycle, combining dedicated expertise, real-time support, and data-driven analysis to ensure safe, efficient execution aligned with your drilling objectives:

  • Lead Well Planner: A dedicated 24/7 point of contact to build continuity, trust, and alignment with your engineering team
  • Well Plans: Collaborative design with scenario modeling, target adjustments, and rapid sidetrack planning
  • Daily Reporting: Comprehensive updates including plan vs. actuals, anti-collision, surveys, BHA performance, and slide data

1998

Cathedral, originally named Directional Plus, was founded by six veterans of the oil and gas industry.

2000

Directional Plus completes a reverse takeover of Cathedral Gold Corporation and evolves into Cathedral Energy Services.

2002

Cathedral becomes a public income trust company trading in the TSE. Cathedral also expands into Saskatchewan.

Our EM MWD tool is commercialized and effectively works in the Bakken Formation without long wire or sub repeater.

Cathedral acquires 13 production testing units and expands into Colorado & Wyoming.

2009

Cathedral moves to a corporate structure and concentrates on directional drilling and production testing as the two main business units.

Expansion to Pennsylvania and Texas allows Cathedral to rapidly grow.

Cathedral launches FUSION MWD platform, allowing the operator to choose EM, positive pulse or dual telemetry transmission. ​Cathedral develops a multi-stack split bearing assembly.
